This a 1/32nd scale model of Charles S. Rolls's H.J.Mulliner "Balloon" car for the Selangor Pewter Co in the 1970's.
After a few hundred pictures and drawings, wood patterns are made and the brass elements are hammered into shape and welded or cast in dies. |
| Then the various bits and pieces are assembled like a kit. |
| The pattern is now ready for a photo shooting session. |
| This is what it will look like when sent to the die makers for mass production. |
This model was commercialised by American Express though the Selangor Pewter Co. |
This is a different effort but also in 1/32nd scale. This unique example was made in brass, then it was gold plated. It was completed for the Prince Michael First Gear Trophy in 1998. It represents a 1930 20/25HP Park-Ward coupe, chassis #GTR5. |
One of 4 examples of the famed London-Edinburgh torpedo tourer by Holmes. |
This time the scale is 1/15th. |
Chassis #1826E was nicknamed "The Mystery", another chassis, #60551, carried the famous name "The Silver Ghost" which became the generic name of the pre-1926 40/50HP Rolls-Royce. |
This is what the model looked like in 1994 when it was delivered to its Japanese customer. |
These models are not for sale.
