#WVH4 was ordered in 1952 by Ramsden Camm Ltd. of Huddersfield, Yorkshire. It was exhibited at the Earl's Court Show from 22nd Oct. to 1st Nov. of the same year, presumably as a gallant last stand since there was no other order pending and the closure of the works was already a fact.

#WVH4 is a 6-light saloon, i.e. it has no glass division between the driver's and the passengers' compartments. What is striking is the obvious departure from the usually massive designs used by other coachbuilders : The lines of WVH4 are fluid and very modern

Walter Rippon of Huddersfield, Yorks, founded a coachmaking business in the XVI century and is considered as the father of British coachbuilding. It is worth noticing that the first motorcar they ever built was a Royce 10HP 2 cylinder car and that was 1905. As you can imagine, they made bodies for virtually all the Rolls-Royce model types until they closed down as coachbuilders in 1952, and yes, WVH4 was their last effort ! Today, the name is still in use, conglomerated in the Appleyard - Rippon partnership, Rolls-Royce dealers and retailers of the factory stock of RR spare parts.
