#WDC34 was ordered in 1948 by T. Welch, the founder of the National Car Parks. Hence the appropriate registration number : NCP1.

#WDC34 was one of 5 examples built and it was identical to WCB11, the car which was exhibited on the Freestone & Webb stand at the Earl's Court Car Show of Oct-Nov 1948. The original livery was a dark unicolor - most probably black. Today the driving compartment is trimmed in brown leather whereas the owner's compartment is treated in a pinkish red cloth. Cherished numbers are generally retained by the owners, and when it was sold, it was re-registered KLL941 and recently, after her American spree, it was again re-registered JYW913.

This design (#3004) is often mistaken for a Hooper job because of the rear quarter lights which are a characteristic feature of the Royal coachbuilder but the trained eye will soon spot the different wing valances, front ventilators in the front windows and even the quarter lights which are not exact copies of Hooper's.
