#LWME58 was ordered in 1951 by Aristotle Onassis, the Greek ship magnate, who used it mainly in France. It was later registered 2636-WF-75.
#LWME58 was built to Franay's brougham design which was also used on #LWHD81, bought by Prince Talal Al Saud Ryal of Saudi Arabia. At around £ 8,000 it was one of the most expensive cars in the world in 1951. (That's 480 times the monthly wages of a chauffeur.)
This design is particularly attractive in two tone black & black cherry livery. The brougham rear door lines add to the horse-drawn era flavour which wraps around the huge body. One of the unusual feature is the chrome waist moulding which only starts after the "b" posts.
